Savior of the American Health Care System
For once, listening to the news gave me hope instead of despair. While the cost of health care keeps spiraling out of control here in America, developing countries are coming to our rescue. Today's NPR morning edition featured international hospitals in third world countries that specializes in handling uninsured or under-insured Americans. Hospitals such as Thailand's Bumrungrad are offering surgeries--selective, cosmetic, or otherwise-- with better service at about 20% of the price it would cost here in the states. Bumrungrad even has a deal with Blue Cross! Sickness will never again prevent us from vacationing, in fact it'll be a reason for it.
