China Trip - Part One 9/28 PVG to Bund 18
Another education trip to China.. oh the memories... i'll try to recap some of it piecemeal.
Thursday September 28 2006
7:00 AM got up early to visit Jamie's grandma
10:00 AM met up with my cousin to go to PVG to pick up David.
11:30 AM picked up David, started driving to dave's hotel near 徐家汇
12：00 PM went in the wrong direction on A20 the outter circle highway of Shanghai.
1:00 PM realized that we went the wrong direction on A20 the outter circle highway of Shanghai
2:00 PM Got to the hotel area but can't find hotel. My cousin's tired so i started driving his Passat.
2:05 PM passed the hotel but didn't see it. Started honking like the rest of Shanghainese drivers and learned to play chicken as the only way to change lanes.
2:20 PM too tired to drive, gave back control to my cousin.
2:30 PM yip took us 3 hours but we finally got to the hotel.
3:00 PM met up with coco at the hotel, started driving to lunch near 南京路
4：00 PM arrived at 南京路, stupid traffic, took us 1 Hr to make the 3 mile or so distance. rediculi
4:30PM ate a late late lunch
5:00PM my cousing finally decide to go to work at 上海电视台, he was supposed to show up at 1
6:30PM rehearsal dinner with family and wedding party at 枣子树, which is still the best vegetarian food i've ever had.
8:30PM jamie went to have fun with her friends, so i'm stuck with tourist dave.
9:00PM went to 南京路步行街 and the bund, took pictures like a 乡八老. (check our pictures out on flickr)
10:00PM met up with coco at Bar Rouge at Bund 18, the trendiest place in town
received VIP treatment since coco knew the manager
chatted with Ferrari people and conned them into giving us free F1 tickets while enjoying the night skyline of the oriental pearl, jingmao, huangpujiang, and peace hotel. Now this is a vacation.
